fibre: 100% Soybean This colourway is a subtle solid bright orange (with touches of yellow), using shades of one colour to give an overall blended effect with touches of lighter and darker, or more and less saturation, over the skein. This yarn is great for warm-weather scarves and shawls that focus on the texture, cables, lace and other detailed patterns. Soy, like many cellulose (vegetable) fibres, have little stretch and while they can drape well, can "grow" and not bounce back fully, like wool. This yarn is not recommended for socks. Tammuz (also known as Dumuzi) is a food and vegetation God from Ancient Sumeria. He was the consort of Inanna (Sumerian)/Ishtar (Babylonian). Wikipedia has a page of info on Tammuz. |
